Adelphine Mukashema is a 44 year-old Rwandan, mother of 4, activist and gender expert. She has more than 22 years of experience in gender-related matters with a focus on leadership, decision-making, and social economic empowerment of women. She is founder of Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Rwanda and currently works for International Alert, which aims to understand conflict in order to building peace in the world. Adelphine worked for several organizations both national and international including CARE International, Education Development Center, Helpage International, Rwanda Women Network and others.
Adelphine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and she is preparing her thesis for a Masters in Gender, Culture and Development from the University of Rwanda.
