Phoebe is a coach at “BeadforLife” where she works with women living in poverty and was looking to have greater impact on the women she worked with.
Today, Phoebe gives every group of women that is about to finish the entrepreneur training a short storytelling session that helps them to build their own stories. For every group of women about to start the program, they get to listen to the alumni’s stories and be inspired. Phoebe stated, “inspiration guides them throughout the training journey and after because they keep referring to the experiences and challenges from the alumni stories and it inspires them to also work hard and make a change.”
In Her Own Words:
“In my work, we provide entrepreneurship training to women living in poverty who have not gone to school. Most of them start their own businesses after the 6-month training and always have successful stories to share. Having graduated women sharing their successful stories to new women who start the training is an important step in the training process mainly because it helps new participants to feel inspired and encouraged to follow the program.”
“When I attended Resonate’s Storytelling for Leadership training, I have learned how important it is for a story to have a framework because that’s when people can learn a lesson or be inspired by that story. Therefore, I realized that it is not only a skill that I needed as a coach to inspire the women that I train but also a tool that can be taught to them and help them to know how to talk about themselves, their journey at BeadforLife, and their vision for the future.”
“As a coach, I share my personal story to help women believe that they can drive a positive change in their lives.”
