Empowerment in Action: My Journey as a Programs Facilitator

We are delighted to present Delphine Ihirwe, one of our dedicated Programs Facilitators. Learn about her professional journey, achievements, encountered challenges, and remarkable growth during her time at Resonate thus far.

In early 2020, my journey with Resonate began—a journey that would redefine my professional path and ignite a passion for empowering others.

Back then, I had just graduated, and I was looking for job opportunities when I came across Resonate. When I read about the facilitator role they were offering, I thought, 'This isn't me.' But, needing a job, I applied anyway.

To become a Resonate facilitator, you have to go through training. On the first day, I felt out of place among smart and confident women. I even thought about quitting, but then I remembered a story about a hummingbird from the workshop where the hummingbird was trying to put out a fire drop by drop. That story motivated me to stick with it, just like the hummingbird. I showed up on the second day and all the other days, got certified, and now, here, I am leading workshops and inspiring young women and girls.

As a facilitator, my main responsibility is to make sure workshops run smoothly and create impact. Leading different programs not only impacted the participants but also helped my own confidence and personal development.

The most special moments for me are when participants share how their lives have changed because of our workshops. It's what keeps me passionate and dedicated to inspiring even more women and girls.

I've learned many lessons on this journey, but the most important is that everyone has potential, and a simple reminder can help them realize it. I want to be that voice for all the girls and women who think they can't achieve anything.

Facing challenges is part of the journey, but the Resonate team and an open mind keep me going. 'Keep learning' is one of Resonate's values, and it's helped me grow and overcome challenges.

If you had met me four years ago, you wouldn't recognize me today. I haven't changed physically, but I've grown a lot professionally, and I'm proud of that. I am grateful to the entire Resonate team; each one of you has played a part in who I am today.
