News From Our Founder

Dear Resonate Family,

The last five years have undoubtedly been the most exciting, the most challenging, and the best of my life. Building Resonate from just an idea into what it is today has been a labor of love, and it would not have been possible without so much support. Our success is possible because, more than any other group of people I have encountered, the team in Rwanda acts on our values every single day in order to drive more impact.

One of our values is “believe in others,” and we have seen the incredible changes that take place when we trust the women we work with to take charge of their lives, and create the changes they want to see in their lives and communities. We have learned again and again that tough problems are best solved by those who are directly impacted by them, and we want this lesson to be reflected in our own team, too. Resonate is an organization that supports women’s leadership in East Africa – and therefore it is only fair that we be run by East African women.

In April of 2019, I will be stepping out of my role as CEO of Resonate and handing the reins over to our current Country Director, and an incredible leader, Norette Turimuci. The transition was announced at the Segal Family Foundation's annual gathering and I would be honored if you would take the time to watch a short video of the announcement here.

I will be joining Resonate’s Board of Directors – and the organization will always be my first baby – but starting in 2019 the Resonate team and I will look to Norette to drive the strategy and progress of this phenomenal organization. I could not be prouder and more excited to pass the torch on to Norette, and I hope you will join me in providing her the same incredible warmth and support that you have shown me over the years.

If you have questions, or want to get in touch with either Norette or me about how you can support us during this exciting transition, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being a part of this incredible force of women leading change.

Be well,

Ayla Schlosser
