We are excited to introduce you to our Program Coordinator, Musoni Munyangango! As the first male employee of Resonate, Musoni is an energetic and thoughtful advocate for gender equality. Learn more about Musoni and his time at Resonate thus far:

What is your role at Resonate?

I am Resonate’s Program Coordinator. In this role, I work with the program team to organize logistics for workshops with our clients. I coordinate directly with partners, maintain relationships with alumni, support the program team in curriculum review and adaptation of workshops, and am on the ground to conduct trainings.

Why did you want to work with women and girls?

I come from a family of five children. We were all raised by our mother, and I witnessed the sacrifices she had to make to ensure that we lived a good life. Being raised by her has instilled in me a commitment to empower women and girls. I know from personal experience that when you empower women and girls, you empower the entire community. I wanted to be a part of that movement.

What interests or excites you about training?

I thoroughly enjoy training people because it allows me to observe the progress they make. Being a firsthand witness to the way people take initiative to lead positive changes they want to see in their lives never ceases to excite me.

What is your favorite thing about working with Resonate?

Definitely the work culture. Resonate really creates a friendly environment. Every team member cares about what they are doing, the well-being of others, and the team dynamic itself. Our one-on-one meetings, check-ins, and team meetings foster a strong sense of community.

What three words would you use to describe Resonate?

Home, care, and community.

We’re currently hiring for a Program Manager, what advice would you give to a person joining our team?

At Resonate, it's important to be a good team player. To be a team player, you have to be very organized and aligned with Resonate's mission. It's also important to believe in women. And you have to like to drink tea. We drink a lot of tea.

What has working at Resonate brought to your life?

Working at Resonate has allowed me to develop a crucial personal skill – I’ve learned to balance my personal life and work. Before Resonate, I used to work overtime and on the weekends without really considering the importance of taking time off. However, our team highlights the importance of a healthy work-life balance so I make sure to do that as well.

Any final words/advice for people interested in Resonate’s work?

Resonate aims to unlock leadership potential in women and girls by helping them to turn opportunity into action. It is bridging a big gap by giving women access to opportunities they might never have had. If you want to see that impact yourself stop by our office or check out our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
