Join Us for Our New Program Launch!

In the last five years, Resonate has worked with more than 50 partners and 5,000 participants to deliver leadership workshops for women and youth in East Africa. We’ve worked with women like Priscilla, an artisan at a factory here in Rwanda. Priscilla used to believe her ideas would not be useful, but now she has gained confidence and became an elected leader in her cooperative and in her local village council. She told us, “Today, I am a leader in my community and it feels wonderful to participate in the wellbeing of my people.” Through our work with building the artisans’ confidence, there has also been an increase in the factory’s efficiency and teamwork.

By combining our workshops with organizations providing technical skills or education, we amplify the impact of our partners. Our unique model leverages storytelling and reflection to shift participant mindsets to ensure they have the self-confidence to turn opportunity and skills into action. As a result of our workshops, we have seen 45% of participants take on leaderships roles, 38% start businesses and 24% advance academically or professionally.

We are incredibly proud of the work we have done, and yet we know there is still so much to be done to unlock the leadership potential in women and youth in East Africa.

On the 27th of September 2018, we are launching a Training of Facilitators program that will help partners integrate leadership workshops directly into their programming. Through the Training of Facilitators program, Resonate will train staff from partner organizations to deliver any of Resonate’s programs themselves. The program will also serve as a tremendous professional development opportunity to reward and develop high-potential employees by building their facilitation and leadership skills.

By integrating Resonate’s unique confidence and leadership-building content and methodology into partner’s programs, we can all work together to advance our common vision of empowering women and youth to create the changes they wish to see in their lives and communities.
